Available Rocking Chair Inventory
Although most of my rocking chairs are made to order and custom, I usually have several available for immediate sale. Having some inventory makes sizing easier and I also do several fine craft shows a year and sometimes show in galleries. In stock right now and available for immediate shipment are the rocking chairs below.
"Alexander," Tall size, Predominately Curly Maple with a plethora of Eastern Black Walnut accents, $6,500 Available
This is a "Tall" (sounds better than "Large") sized chair and people 5'10" and above will be most comfortable in this rocker. One thing I've found over the years I've been making seating is that larger people can be comfortable in chairs that are sized for people smaller than themselves, but small or smaller people cannot be comfortable in chairs that are too large for them. Designed to shout, "I'm special!" Alexander becomes a focal point in any room that he's placed.

"Shannon," Medium size, Eastern Black Walnut, $5,800 Available
Recently I've made several chairs with lots of accents. Shannon has absolutely none beyond the color variations of the Eastern Black Walnut itself. When I make chairs without accents it feels somehow more honest. When you sit down in Shannon, it's like you're sitting down with an old friend you haven't seen in years.

"Mini," Small size, Figured Cherry and Ash, $5,500 Available
A small chair most comfortable for people under 5'9", this one is made from outstanding Pennsylvania Cherry with Ash accents throughout.
"Grace," Medium Size, Black Walnut & Curly Maple, $6,500 SOLD
I've really been on a tear lately producing several of my most artistic chairs to date. Very comfortable. Ideal for people in the 5'5" - 6' height range.
"Eye Candy," Medium Size, Curly Maple and Black Walnut, $6,300 SOLD
I really went off the chain with this one! Ideally sized for people 5'5" - 6', Eye Candy is extremely comfortable and visually fascinating.
"Callie," Medium Size, Toasted Instrument Grade Curly Maple with Curly Maple accents. $6,300 SOLD
This musical instrument grade Toasted Curly Maple is truly one of the most figured woods I've ever had the pleasure of working with. Ideally sized for people between 5'5" - 5'11". A truly bold chair out of an exquisite figured hardwood. That said, I can get more of this incredible wood! Call me.
"Courtland," Medium, Amboyna Burl & Satine, $32,000
This is a very unique piece for a client who wants something very special. To the best of my knowledge there are only 3 burl chairs in the world and I made all of them. The reason for this is very simple; burl is exceedingly expensive but also incredibly weak due to the lack of linear fibers. It took three months to engineer this chair and the other two I built so they wouldn't simply fold up like a cheap suit when someone sits or rocks in them. In all the critical load bearing areas of the chair I was able to incorporate another tropical hardwood which is very strong (satine) which also had the right density and color. Amboyna Burl is probably the most expensive wood on earth and often sells for over $300/board foot or $70/pound for the premium grades like what Courtland is made from. I originally bought a 950 Ib burl to make two matching chairs for a client.
